| ST. LOUIS (KTVI) - Tonight, our community mourns the loss of one of our city's Finest.St. Louis Police spokesman James Gordon stated Officer Lucas Spencer, a recent graduate of the police academy and recent hire to the STLPD, was found by a homeless man in an alleyway in the North district shortly before noon today. At the time, it appeared cause of death was a grouping of gun shot wounds to the chest.
There were no witnesses to the actual incident and no suspects have been taken into custody. We urge anyone with any information to please come forward.
Spokesman Gordon reports that the police are exploring possible leads into the unexpected death of Spencer, as he was a well liked man, involved in the department and his church. The murder weapon is at this time unknown but may be released later as information becomes available. Like several other recent murders, a message was left, this time in spray paint on the building's side in the alley were the body was found. It read "One little, two little, three of them's dead now. Four little, Five little, Which one comes next, now?"
Spokesman Gordon was unable to confirm or deny the suspected emergence of a serial killer on the loose in St Louis and referred all further questions the St Louis Police Department's Public Affairs office. More details will be released as they are made available to the public ------------------------------------------ Allen West is a breaking news reporter for the St Louis County Register - follow him on Twitter @breakingwest
