We've received many complaints about how the SL was handled with Ethan saving Kimberly. We've addressed this between Staff and Ty has been removed from Staff. In lieu of this, he has decided to leave the game completely.

Now, to explain... we as a Staff have to hold ourselves up to a higher standard - we do not run our own scenes. This is something we are very strict about. Another Staff member has to be present when another's character is having interaction that needs ST oversight. This rule was broken more than once. And as a Staff we rectified it.

Now, for the Storyline. It was derailed; and we are currently trying to move the SL back to where it was originally planned to be. We never intended for any of it to be taken out of the player's hands. As for Kimberly being kidnapped in the first place... Mira is working hard on giving this SL her attention, but she was being pulled in different directions to play Kimberly as well. As a group we decided it was a good idea to take her out of 'game' for the time being and make sure that she could focus. This is where the derail happened. And where the Staff had to step in as a whole to fix the mistake that was made.

Ty insisted that his PC (yes, we each have PCs that are built to the same standards our players have to adhere to), would in fact go after Kimberly. This was after he was told repeatedly that Kim needed to stay out of the 'game' for the duration so that Mira could focus on the SL. Rolls were made without Staff oversight, and she was brought home. This was the first time we know of that he did such an action; the second time came the next day in another scene with another player.

As a note on the previous paragraph: we as a Staff will often pull our characters back from a SL until we are yanked into it by another character - so that we do not 'solve' or have too much 'sway' in the way the SL goes. This is to keep it fair and allow everyone a chance to get into the SLs that are offered and will be offered in the future.

Again, all of this was rectified. And we, as a Staff, stand behind our decision. The only reason why we are posting this is to allow you as a group of players to understand what happened behind the scenes in the past 2.5 days. And to understand that we do not take lightly when a Staff member does not uphold our main belief: that we must be fair and uphold ourselves to a higher standard so that there is no question of favoritism for Staff (as I'm sure many of you have seen in the past in many of the games you've played in over the years. I've seen it; I've seen other's accused wrongly. But I've seen it none the less).

As it stands, we are moving the SL back to where it was, as stated above. And we hope that all our wonderful players will join back in and get drawn back into the maze of twists and turns that is this opening SL!
