| Hey everyone,
Since we've opened the server and the chronicle has begun, I've paid attention to the play of many of the characters. It's no secret that I'm a stickler for merits and flaws and so far I've seen very few of you play your flaws that you took at creation. If these aren't seen played like they are supposed to be, you will lose the flaw and the amount of xp they cost (i.e. if a flaw is a 2 pt flaw, you will lose 2xp).
Also several people have been playing merits and flaws that their chars do not have. Be prepared to be given these, free of charge, as I review things. Flaws are not just physical or mental or supernatural, they are also social. Over play a character can develop behavior that would cause the flaw to be given. And vice versa with the merits.
I just wanted to give you all a heads up so you're not surprised when I call you into GH to discuss these things. It may only be a few people, it may be none at all, but this is the heads up on it

| Bumping this as it seems those who have been affected by this hadn't actually paid attention. Lena is doing a "wellness check" for all characters in the game.
This means: 1) She will be taking into consideration what she has SEEN in game play - and will adjust accordingly. 2) She will take into consideration what other PLAYERS have come to us and talked to us about. Yes, players do tell us what they felt when interacting with another. Mostly because they want to make sure that they saw what we saw and visa versa. 3) She will also take into consideration how best to rectify what is missing/shouldn't be on the sheet. 4) If she is unsure of what she has seen or needs a second/third opinion she will come to the rest of the Staff and ask opinions. 5) And finally, she is posting up on our forums what she wants to do with each character as she goes down the list. If the rest of the Staff has objections we have a chance to reply before she pulls the Player of the character into GH to discuss what the changes are going to be.
Now... you CAN earn back your change on demeanor by having your character start working BACK to the demeanor if you don't agree with the change. Merits and Flaws, however, you will have to talk to the STs about earning them back.
As a Staff we are VERY serious about people playing what is on their sheet and not playing stuff that isn't. We do not arbitrarily make changes on people's sheets due to how our characters interact with them. We take into account number one and number two of the list above.
I will take this time to note:
If you don't trust your Staff, you start to resent your Staff, and in the end you leave a game bitter.
If you, as a Player, don't trust the Staff of this game you need to take a step back and re-evaluate playing here. We take painstaking steps to insure we are as fair as we can be in every situation we're dealing with. In many situations we end up hurting ourselves (IC and OOC) to bend over backwards for Players. Just because you don't SEE what is going on behind the 'curtain' that separates ST from Player doesn't mean nothing is happening.
Thank you! I still think-- no, KNOW - that we have the best player base out there! You guys are wonderful, and we do love running this game for you!
- Jo

| I feel that the need has come up to reiterate what Jo stated above.
Everyone needs to understand that these "Wellness Checks" are NOT to target players or characters. I do not make the decisions on my own on what to take and what to give or what to change. It is a collective thing among the ST's.
Players were given a WEEKS notice prior to my actually looking at sheets and starting on this, that was enough time for everyone to look at their own sheets and make sure they were playing what was on there. Use it or lose it.
Now, if something on your sheet gets changed and you're upset about it then rectify it IC by playing your character THE WAY YOU ORIGINALLY WROTE IT AND SHEETED IT.
We don't appreciate hearing that we're out to get players, that we have personal vendettas or whatever other negative attacks some players want to make on the Staff. It's hurtful and unnecessary and spreading that to other players not only makes it look like you cant handle an adult game but also that you obviously don't trust your ST's.
If I haven't talked to you about your sheet/character yet, either I haven't gotten to your sheet/character or I haven't been able to catch you online or there was nothing being changed. If you're not sure which of these applies to you, just message me and ask.
My suggestion at this time is that if I haven't spoken with you about your character or sheet that you look at your sheets and really think about whether you've been playing what's on there. If you find you haven't, start playing it unless you want to lose it or risk it being changed.
